IT Apprenticeship Program
Lansing Community College provides an excellent opportunity for students interested in IT classes to move into the IT Apprenticeship program.
LCC is committed to providing students with the opportunity to work with an experienced apprenticeship coach, Wyn Wilson, who is committed to guiding students through setting up successful apprenticeship experiences.
Using the latest Technologies, LCC has set up a database for employers to review prescreened student resumes. Students can post resumes and credentials online for apprenticeship site employers to browse prior to interviewing.
How it Works
The IT Apprenticeship program is concurrent on-the-job training and classroom instruction. Upon completion, apprentices will earn an associate degree as well as Department Of Labor Apprenticeship credentials related to but not limited to the following specialties:
- Computer Programmer
- Computer Support - Desktop Support
- IT Generalist
- Network Support
- Database Services
- IT Project Management
- Information Assurance & Security
- E-Commerce (Web Design and Administration)
- Help Desk
The benefits of an IT Apprenticeship include paid employment, structured on the job training with related classroom instruction, specialized skills related to the job, and opportunities to gain practical experience.
Annual IT Speed Networking Event
Career & Employment Services hosts an Annual IT Speed Networking Event on LCC's West Campus every Fall.
Speed Networking provides students with the opportunity to connect with IT professionals in the Greater Lansing Area.
Students are required to attend a 10 minute prep session in order to attend the event.
More information will be posted when registration becomes available.
