
Lesson 4: Collaboration Suite
Collaboration Suite is the email, calendar, and files system currently used at LCC. This suite is the primary system used by the college to communicate with you, so it is critical that you familiarize yourself with it as quickly as possible. These systems can be accessed through myLCC, or by utilizing Microsoft Outlook.
Email (YourTUID@lcc.edu)
To access Collaboration Suite web Email client, click on the Email link at the top of any myLCC page. Additional logins are necessary to access all of the Collaboration Suite applications. It is recommended that Internet Explorer (version 7 and up) be used to access Collaboration Suite applications.
In addition to Collaboration Suite email, you can use Microsoft Outlook to access your LCC Email:
- If you have an LCC laptop, the following will be automatically set up for your Outlook access to your Email, calendar and LCC_files on the desktop.
- If you are using a computer on campus, you can call the Help Desk at (517) 483-5221 to have someone set up your Outlook profile for you.
- If you would like to use Outlook to access your LCC email, you can also contact the Help Desk at (517) 483-5221 for assistance.
**Please note there is a 150 MB email quota. Therefore, it is important to delete old emails and empty the trash often (Email in the trash basket contributes to the quota). Once your quota is reached, you will no longer receive email.
You can check your current email quota by going to Preferences (top-right corner)
Calendar
To access Collaboration Suite web Calendar client, click on the Calendar link at the top of any myLCC page.
In addition to the Collaboration Suite web-based calendar, the calendar can be accessed using Microsoft Outlook (see previous page under Email).
Files
LCC uses a network file system for saving working files. These files can be accessed through myLCC or through the LCC_Files network shortcut found on the desktop on all LCC computers.
An LCC_Files shortcut may be created on any windows-based internet connected personal computer.
You may also access files saved on the Collaboration Suite Workspaces by clicking on the Files link at the top of all myLCC pages.
