Lesson 1: Introduction and Outcomes
Although stakeholder interest and accountability efforts focus on the Program Level, much intensive work in departments and programs addresses individual courses. Identifying Program-level outcomes articulates what program graduates should know and be able to do. Programmatic assessment, then, determines to what extent the graduates have acquired the knowledge base and skills. The intent of this workshop is to extend the work many faculty have accomplished in developing measurable outcomes and assessment practices in their courses to the program level.
Workshop Outcomes
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- use the materials to guide the development of Program-Level learning outcome statements.
- develop assessment plans.
