Prerequisites for the "LCC/CTE Teaching Online Certification (TOC)"

Prerequisites for TOC have been established for two purposes: 1) to ensure that participants are prepared to use ANGEL, and 2) to experience learning in an online environment. To satisfy the prerequisites, participants need to select one of two paths. Path One is designed for the person who has a good working knowledge of ANGEL, and Path Two, for the person unfamiliar with ANGEL.

Path One

(Designed for the person with a good working knowledge of ANGEL.)

Step 1: Complete the "ANGEL Proficiency Exam."

To schedule your exam, please complete The ANGEL Proficiency Exam Request form. Proficiency is demonstrated with score of 85% or better.

Step 2: Take eLearning’s "Introduction to ANGEL for Students" and complete the "Introduction to ANGEL for Students Final Assessment" at the end.

To take the "Introduction to ANGEL for Students:"

  1. Login to ANGEL using your TUID and Password.
  2. Select "Introduction to ANGEL for Students" (followed by the Current Semester and Year) from the list of courses on ANGEL's homepage.

    If you do not see "Introduction to ANGEL for Students," or you cannot login to ANGEL, please contact the LCC Help Desk at (517) 483-5221 or lcc1@lcc.edu.
  3. Click on the Lessons tab.

Path Two

(Designed for the person unfamiliar with ANGEL.)

Step 1: Take the Introduction to ANGEL workshop offered through the CTE.

Step 2: Upon completion of the above workshop, take the "Introduction to ANGEL Assessment." Please be advised that you may take this assessment as many times as necessary to obtain an 85% or better.

To take the "Introduction to ANGEL Assessment:"

  1. Login to ANGEL using your TUID and Password.
  2. Click on "Faculty Community Group" under Community Groups on your homepage.
  3. Click on the Content tab.
  4. Click on the "Introduction to ANGEL Assessment" folder to begin the assessment.

    If you do not see the "Introduction to ANGEL Assessment," or you cannot login to ANGEL, please contact the CTE at (517) 483-1680 or cte@lcc.edu.

Step 3: Take eLearning’s "Introduction to ANGEL for Students" and complete the "Introduction to ANGEL for Students Final Assessment" at the end.

To take the "Introduction to ANGEL for Students:"

  1. Login to ANGEL using your TUID and Password.
  2. Select "Introduction to ANGEL for Students" (followed by the Current Semester and Year) from the list of courses on ANGEL's homepage.

    If you do not see the "Introduction to ANGEL for Students," or you cannot login to ANGEL, please contact the LCC Help Desk at (517) 483-5221 or lcc1@lcc.edu.
  3. Click on the Lessons tab.

Note: Completion of the above prerequisites will be verified prior to participants being officially enrolled in the "LCC/CTE TOC."
