This course provides an introduction to the techniques of microbiology and the
field of public health. Students will take environmental samples, grow cultures,
and use microscopes to examine micro-organisms, including household pests.
Students will also study food preservation techniques and test the ability of
antibiotics to stop the growth of bacteria.
