Do you know POND SCUM?

Tuition: $139.00
Instructor: Alicia Cotey
Time: 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Location: LCC East

Have you ever looked at a drop of pond water under a microscope? Pond water is teeming with life. All of the organisms are connected to each other and depend on each other to survive and thrive. In this course, we will examine the many different life forms found in a typical pond - from the smallest of bacteria to large flat worms, and everything in between. Each week we'll learn about a new type of organism and how it fits into the food web of the pond. We'll then add that organism to the pond in a bottle to see how it interacts with other organisms present. Last, we'll spend some time testing water samples from local ponds to determine if pollution is present.
