CCAMPIS Grant

Early LCC has been awarded a Child Care Access Means Parents In School (CCAMPIS) Grant from the U.S. Department of Education

Eligibility for CCAMPIS Grant

  • LCC student parents needing child care
  • Federal Pell Grant eligible and enrolled a minimum of 6 credits fall/spring semester or 3 credits summer semester, in a certificate or degree curriculum
  • Priority for student veterans

What is the Purpose?

This program offers eligible participants:

  • Financial Assistance - child care tuition
  • Community Resources
  • Student Parent Success Coach available for consultation
  • Group meetings on topics, such as:
    • Child Development Issues
    • Parent Involvement
    • Student Success
  • Opportunities to network with other student parents

Letter of Agreement

As a participant in the CCAMPIS grant, awarded LCC to support student parents as they enroll, persist, and graduate from college, the following information will be collected for the U.S. Department of Education to monitor the required grant outcomes:

  • Evidence of academic status, including successful certificate or degree award from LCC
  • Support services, tutoring, and resources provided by the CCAMPIS parent success coach
  • Interventions provided to maintain enrollment for successful graduation

As a parent of a child enrolled at Early LCC and a recipient of CCAMPIS grant money, I agree to the following:

  • Allow CCAMPIS staff to access to my Pell, enrollment, and academic status
  • Have course instructors complete the Student Progress Report on week 5-6 and return to the CCAMPIS Parent Coach
  • Give permission to LCC, the CCAMPIS Student Parent Coach and Early LCC Director to share information in regards my enrollment status, my academic standing, and the possible barriers to my successful completion of my LCC program of academic study
  • Attend the CCAMPIS grant orientation session with the Student Parent Coach
  • Participate in a minimum of two CCAMPIS parent activities during the semester

The Project Director/Parent Success Coach of the LCC CAMPIS Grant agrees to the following:

  • To reduce the parent paid portion of the child's tuition due to Gretchen's House
  • Maintain a confidential file on each student parent, in a locked cabinet, that provides the Student Parent coach with a history of academic performance, notes, and follow up on actions and interventions
  • Assure that all records adhere to FERPA requirements
  • Help student parents obtain resources on the LCC campus and in the community
  • Plan and implement student success group meetings (Brown Bag lunches), week-end family activities, parent education opportunities
  • Hold monthly focus groups for student parents for support and discussion
  • Provide individual consultation with student parents
  • Maintain an active online website for resources, activities and support of student parents

Student Parent Networking Opportunities

Student Parents will have opportunities to be involved in:

  • Brown Bag Lunches
  • Early LCC Advisory Committee
  • Focus Groups
