Early Learning Programs

Early Learning Children’s Community (Early LCC) at Lansing Community College provides high quality early education and child care for the children (three months to kindergarten) of LCC students, staff and the community. Additionally, Early LCC provides a field experience with children for students in many LCC programs.

The center, is licensed by the state of Michigan and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), is not your typical child care center. Students, parents and staff come together to help the children grow. The curriculum has been carefully designed by LCC's Child Development and Early Education Program to provide engaging,

and developmentally appropriate activities that encourage children to be confident, competent learners. The preschool program is based on the Reggio Emilia / Project Approach to early childhood education which builds upon the interests of the children through projects and collaborative group work.
