LCC Hires Marc Kibby as Head Softball Coach

LANSING – The Lansing Community College Athletic Department announced the hiring of Marc Kibby as head coach for the school’s women’s softball team. Kibby, who served as varsity head softball coach at Bath High School for 16 years, was hired to build a strong team and carry on its winning tradition.

“Marc has an incredible record of wins, is respected by his peers and the community, and is beloved by his student athletes,” said LCC Athletic Director Scott Latham. “He knows the talent in the area and will be great at recruiting local players. We are thrilled he is part of the LCC Stars athletic program.”

Kibby, who started his new position August 8, was named the 2011 Lansing State Journal Coach of the Year. Over the course of his career at Bath High School, he led the Bath Lady Bees to one State Title, nine League Titles, nine District Titles, and four Regional Titles.

“I’m extremely honored to be named the new head coach for LCC’s women’s softball team,” said Kibby. “Athletic Director Scott Latham and his staff have a high-energy and positive approach to building a first-class athletic program.  I am grateful for the opportunity to join them.”

Kibby said his goal is to build a team that is as committed to academics as it is to athletics, and to help student-athletes understand that they are ambassadors of LCC and the entire community.
