The Health Unit Clerk or Coordinator serves as a receptionist and support staff at the nurse's station of a hospital or nursing home. Duties include answering the phone, keeping account of staff, charts, and patient whereabouts; ordering supplies, diets, x-rays and lab work, plus noting doctors' orders. There is no direct patient care.
