A new direction for Grand River Radio
River Radio has been a part of the 89-7 line up for a number
of years. During that time, the concept has changed but the
goal has remained the same; to promote local and Michigan
musicians. Soon LCC Radio will be taking Grand River Radio
in a new direction to provide even more exposure to these
artists; we’ll have more details down the road, but for now
we would like to send a big thank you to Sir Pizza Grand
Cafe in old town for hosting the show each week. You
can still catch the free shows live at Sir Pizza Grand Cafe
through April 18th when LCC Radio will be wrapping up the
series with Peter Madcat Ruth. Shows take place Fridays at
4/11/14 - American WiFi & The Legal Immigrants
4/18/14 - Peter Madcat Ruth (full hour)

LCC Radio turns 20!
11, 2014 marks the 20th anniversary of WLNZ's first
broadcast to Lansing. Before that, the station existed in
various forms; a radio enthusiasts' club to the classroom
and a closed circuit broadcast entertaining the LCC students
and staff. We'll be celebrating those twenty years by
chatting with individuals who have been involved with the
station over the years and contributed to helping us get to
this point. Stop by
and check out "20 Years, 20 Faces" and catch up with names
from the past and presentt. We wouldn't be here today
without our members - THANKS FOR 20 GREAT YEARS!!
The 16th Annual Homelessness Marathon on LCC Radio
several years LCC Radio has been proud to participate in the
Annual "Homelessness Marathon", a program dedicated to
creating awareness and providing a voice for the homeless.
If you missed this year's February 19th broadcast, you can
find out more about this annual awareness campaign at their
website. The broadcast, has originated from Detroit,
Kansas City, and Katrina-ravaged Mississippi, among other
places and features live in-depth discussions with homeless
people. We hope to bring you this event once again in 2015.
Have you had a chance to try The Appetizer?
Radio is all about Michigan music, but we do make room in
our schedule for some quality syndicated programs. One of
our most recent additions is a show called "The Appetizer".
“We’re all in a perpetual state of discovery,” says host of
The Appetizer, D. Grant Smith. This program out of Abilene,
Texas, celebrated its tenth anniversary in September 2013.
The Anniversary Show featured in-studio sessions from
William Fitzsimmons,George Pendergrass, and Elliott Park,
with music from artists like Iron & Wine, The Civil Wars,
Ingrid Michaelson, and Clarensau making its way onto the
playlist. If those names...
