Michigan’s beloved Three Men and a Tenor (3MT), an internationally touring comedic vocal music sensation, will bring a hilarious, holiday themed show called the Ha-Ha Holidays Extravaganza to the Grand Ledge Performing Arts Center Saturday, December 20th at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at the Grand Ledge City Hall or at the Three Men and a Tenor website.
3MT has been performing together for over two decades and will bring a program to Grand Ledge that is intended for the whole family. It is a full-blown music concert with a unique twist - the group performs a full 2-hour show without using any instruments. Expect the unusual, high-energy, hilarious vocal antics and soothing harmonies as 3MT performs music you will recognize and some of their original arrangements. “The concert will be a laugh-a-long, sing-along, thrill ride of great music,” commented lead vocalist Mark Stiles.
3MT formed in 1992 at Michigan State University by Paul Felch, Chuck Colby, Mark Stiles (all of whom are well over 6 feet tall) and Glenn Williams (a 5 foot tenor). 3MT produced its own nationally-televised PBS special, airing in markets including Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, Las Vegas, Philadelphia and Seattle. The group also has been on WGN-TV, the WB Superstation in Chicago and they have recorded four CDs.

Pickin' in the Park
years ago, a national music education/preservation group approached WLNZ
about helping them promote and coordinate a weekly event that brings
together musicians of all ages and different skill levels to create
music and learn from each other at the same time; the event was called
Pckin' in the Park. 89.7 was happy to help out with the initial on-air
promotions, hosting, and coordinating during the early days. Since that
time, Pickin' in the Park has taken on a life of its own -- which was
exactly what it was supposed to do!
Pickin' in the Park still takes place in Old Town every Tuesday from 6-9 pm. During the summer months, you can follow the music to any one of Old Town's three parks (generally Burchard Park). During the colder months, the gang usually migrates to Sir Pizza Grand Café located at 201 E. Grand River Ave.
Instruments of all types are welcome. Each session is a spontaneous and fun experience covering all sorts of music from bluegrass, blues, classic rock, contemporary, country, to folk. Whether you're just getting started or a seasoned musician, make it a point to be a part of this great experience in Lansing.
