STEMfest is a day for the children of LCC's community to come to the campus and experience hands-on interactive, STEM events. All events are free non-competitive with an emphasis on learning. We offer activities ranging from eye dissection to making and learning about spirals. Faculty and students will be running the day's events.
STEMfest is very rewarding, fun and exciting for students, parents, and teachers. Students can choose from many activities, focusing on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines. Parents are welcome as chaperones to help their children fully explore the science and math ideas presented. Teachers have used this event as a means of involving parents in their children's education. Many teachers use the events as classroom activities to support their science curriculum or as individual science projects. Everyone who attends STEMfest goes home with new found information and hopefully a love of science, technology, education, and mathematics.
