NOTES:
1. This transfer guide represents an Articulation (partnership) Agreement between
Lansing Community College (LCC) and Palmer College of Chiropractic. Palmer
offers two programs that may benefit students wanting a career in Chiropractic:
Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) and Bachelor of Science (BS) in General Science.
This P
articulated agreement does not have a specified expiration date.
2. Entrance requirements for the Doctor of Chiropractic degree program:
a. A minimum of 90 semester hours (63 credits earned at LCC with the remaining
credits earned at a four-year institution).
b. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
3. Palmer College of Chiropractic offers the Bachelor of Science in General
Science (BS) degree because many states require a bachelor's degree for
licensure and because many students recognize the value of obtaining a
bachelor's degree for flexibility in their future career paths and educational
studies. The BS program curriculum complements that of the Doctor of
Chiropractic program. It is a completion degree in which 31 credit hours from
the DC program are applied to the 121 credit hours required to complete the BS
degree. The remaining 90 credit hours are obtained through the Department of
Undergraduate Studies or through transfer credit.
In order to apply to the BS program, the student must have completed a minimum
of 30 credits and have applied to the DC program. The BS degree can, however,
be started before acceptance to the DC program. A BS degree cannot be obtained
from Palmer College without successful completion of the 31 credit hours from
the DC program.
The BS program also offers students the opportunity to complete their
prerequisites on the Davenport campus. Students using these credits towards
prerequisites to enter the DC program should note that the Department of
Undergraduate Studies offers courses in the areas of Business, Communications,
Psychology, and Social Sciences/Humanities.
a. No grade below a "C" (2.00) will be accepted toward the BS degree.
b. Up to 15 semester hours may be granted from course work in vocational/
technical programs (transferable as freshman/sophomore level courses).
c. Up to 20 semester hours of CLEP (College Level Examination Program) may be
granted (transferable as freshman/sophomore level courses).
c. Up to 35 semester hours may be applied from a previous undergraduate degree.
4. Students may select nine credits from writing (WRIT), speech (SPCH), or
foreign language courses at LCC to fulfill this requirement at Palmer.
5. Students may select any college-level courses from psychology, sociology,
political science, business, economics, geography, anthropology, and computer
science.
6. Students may select any college-level courses from literature, history,
philosophy, art, theatre, music, religion and physical education.
7. The Palmer College of Chiropractic programs are subject to revision due to
additions and/or deletions in the College/University Bulletin. Students
should work closely with an advisor from Palmer before registering for
classes other than those listed on this transfer guide.
8. Students who complete the coursework on this transfer guide may be eligible to
receive an LCC Associate Degree. Contact the LCC Academic Advising Center for
additional information. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill
specific graduation requirements. See the LCC online catalog for details.
9. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
registration. For testing hours call (517) 267-5500.
