NOTES:
1. This transfer guide represents an Articulation (partnership) Agreement
between Lansing Community College (LCC) and Ferris State University (FSU)
and is designed for students who have complete or are completing on of the
following LCC degrees: AS in Biology, AAS in Chemical Technology, or AAS in
Molecular Biotechnology. Graduates of these programs who have earned a
minimum of a 2.00 cumulative GPA or higher will be permitted to transfer all
credits in the Associate Program toward the Bachelors Program at FSU. This
articulated agreement expires on April 15, 2013.
2. See the MACRAO Transfer Agreement for appropriate LCC courses. Final
responsibility for verifying all transfer information lies with the student.
3. WRIT 131 and 132 may be substituted in place of WRIT 121 and WRIT/ENGL 122.
4. FSU Application Deadlines: Transfer students must be admitted 21 days prior
to the first day of the semester they plan to attend.
5. FSU Admission Requirements: Transfer students must have at least 12 credits
at the time of application with a minimum 2.00 overall GPA including an
English and mathematics course or they will be considered first year students
and must meet the freshman admission criteria.
6. The MACRAO Transfer Agreement applies only to students entering bachelor
degree programs at FSU, pertains solely to general education, and does
not exempt students from meeting specific prerequisite and/or course
requirements for their degree. Only courses with a grade of "C" (2.0)
or better will transfer.
7. Students transferring to Ferris State University with MACRAO will have
met the lower-division general education communication competency;
scientific understanding; cultural enrichment; social awareness; race,
ethnicity, and gender; and global awareness requirements. In order to
complete the general education requirements for a bachelor's degree,
students with MACRAO must still complete math proficiency and upper-
level communication competency requirements.
8. Many degrees require specific courses and prerequisite courses that also
count for FSU's general education requirements. Because these specific
courses are required for the degree, they must be taken even if a
student has sufficient coursework to complete the MACRAO agreement.
9. FSU Bachelor Degree Graduation Requirements:
a. 2.00 cumulative GPA in all courses. No grade lower than C- in science or
math courses allowed for graduation.
b. 30 minimum FSU semester hours must be completed to fulfill FSU residency
requirements.
c. A total of 121 credit hours are required for graduation in this major.
10. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements. See the LCC Online Catalog for details.
11. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
registration. For testing hours call (517) 267-5500.
