1. This transfer guide represents an Articulation (partnership) Agreement between
Lansing Community College (LCC) and the University of Detroit Mercy (UDM),
which facilitates the transfer of credits for successful completion of the LCC
Associate in Applied Science Degree in Dental Hygiene, to the UDM Bachelor of
Science Degree in Dental Hygiene program. Students following the agreement can
complete the UDM degree requirements within one additional year of full-time
studies. This articulated agreement will be reviewed in June 2016.
2. UDM will accept a maximum of 92.5 credits in transfer. Courses with less than
a 2.0 grade will not transfer to UDM for credit or placement.
3. The Dental Hygiene Program at UDM is fully accredited by the American Dental
Association's Commission on Dental Accreditation.
4. The LCC Dental Hygiene Program is a selective admission program, coordinated
through the Enrollment Services Office. Any student desiring admission should
contact the LCC Enrollment Services Office, (517) 483-1200 or by email at
selective_admissions@lcc.edu to receive an application. Applicants are encour-
aged to contact the Allied Health & Human Services Department at 517-483-1410
or online at http://www.lcc.edu/health for additional information.
5. Courses with this notation are prerequisites for LCC's Dental Hygiene Program.
6. Students planning to transfer to a four-year institution are encouraged to
take BIOL 201 and 202 in place of BIOL 145. A minimum grade of 2.5 is required
for each BIOL course.
7. Completion of the courses listed on this transfer guide fulfill LCC associate
degree graduation requirements. Students seeking an additional or alternative
LCC associate degree must fulfill additional courses requirements. See the
LCC Online Catalog for details.
8. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
