NOTES:
1. This transfer guide supports an Articulation (partnership) Agreement between
Lansing Community College (LCC) and Ferris State University (Ferris). It
facilitates the transfer of LCC students, who have completed or are
completing an LCC Associate Degree, into the Ferris Bachelor of Applied
Science degree in Digital Animation and Game Design (DAGD). The BAS/DAGD is
designed as a multidisciplinary degree. This articulated agreement expires
March 1, 2013.
2. See the MACRAO Transfer Agreement for appropriate LCC courses. Final
responsibility for verifying all transfer information lies with the student.
2. Students transferring to FSU may meet the FSU General Education Requirements
with a 2.5 cumulative GPA or complete the MACRAO Transfer Agreement, with
the MACRAO Stamp on their transcript and a 2.5 cumulative GPA prior to
transferring.
3. The MACRAO Transfer Agreement applies only to students entering bachelor
degree programs at FSU, pertains solely to general education, and does
not exempt students from meeting specific prerequisite and/or course
requirements for their degree. Only courses with a grade of "C" (2.0)
or better will transfer.
4. Students transferring to Ferris State University with MACRAO will have
met the lower-division general education communication competency;
scientific understanding; cultural enrichment; social awareness; race,
ethnicity, and gender; and global awareness requirements. In order to
complete the general education requirements for a bachelor's degree,
students with MACRAO must still complete math proficiency and upper-
level communication competency requirements.
5. Many degrees require specific courses and prerequisite courses that also
count for FSU's general education requirements. Because these specific
courses are required for the degree, they must be taken even if a
student has sufficient coursework to complete the MACRAO agreement.
6. It is expected that the students entering this technology intensive program
already have solid foundation skills in dealing with personal computers.
Individuals are encouraged to enter the program as a first-year student and
be dually enrolled with LCC. Dual enrollment requires a student to be admitted
to LCC and register there for the appropriated FSU-Equivalent courses in this
degree. Once accepted into the program, students are expected to enroll in
FSU's Digital Animation courses.
7. Students interested in the degree should set up an advising appointment with
the DAGD advisor. Financial aid is available for dually enrolled students.
Contact the Ferris financial aid counselors for more information.
8. FSU Admission Requirements: Transfer students with 29 credit hours or less
must possess a high school grade point average of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) and
a ACT composite score of 17. Transfer students with 30 credits hours or more
must posses a 2.5 cumulative GPA. The DABD program requires a student port-
folio as part of the admission process.
9. FSU Bachelor Degree Graduation Requirements:
a. Graduation requires a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA in all courses and a
2.50 cumulative GPA in required DAGD classes.
b. 30 minimum FSU semester hours must be completed to fulfill FSU residency
requirements.
c. 124 credit hours must be completed for graduation.
10. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements. See the LCC Online Catalog for details.
11. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
registration. For testing hours call (517) 267-5500.
For further information and advising, contact David B. Baker, DAGD Advisor, FSU
