REQUIREMENTS
NOTES:
1. This transfer guide represents an Articulation (partnership) Agreement
between Lansing Community College (LCC) and Spring Arbor University (SAU)
and is designed to facilitate the transfer of LCC students to SAU. LCC
courses applicable to the Nursing degree are listed in the articulation
link above. After completion of an Associate in Applied Science Degree in
Nursing from LCC, a student may transfer to the SAU School of Graduate and
Professional Studies Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree completion
program. This agreement is in effect until January 2013.
2. LCC students may transfer to SAU after completing the following steps:
a. Successfully completion of a minimum of 58 transferable credits;
b. Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher;
c. Timely submission and approval of all application material, including
a current unrestricted, unencumbered nursing license.
d. Personal interview with a SAU admissions representative and/or academic
advisor.
3. Additional requirements:
a. A maximum of 84 semester hours with a minimum of a 2.0 or better may be
transferred from LCC.
b. Students must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher to be
accepted in tot he BSN program.
c. A maximum of 40 technical/occupational hours may be applied toward the
degree.
c. Students may apply a maximum of 30 semester hours of prior-learning credits
toward the degree.
4. The RN-BSN accelerated completion program prepares professional nurses to
contribute service and leadership to diverse communities through one of three
specialty area options. Leadership/Management synthesizes complex care issues
with contemporary business and managed care practices. Gerontology promotes
comprehensive care for an aging population. Parish/Community integrates faith
and health promotion within communities.
5. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements. See the LCC Online Catalog for details.
