The following is a guide for students who wish to begin their coursework at 
Lansing Community College and transfer to Norfolk State University to complete 
a baccalaureate degree.

Norfolk State University is a public, urban, comprehensive University offering 
programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  Founded in 1935, Norfolk 
State University adheres to the traditional purpose of the Historically Black
University and espouses the tradition of service to it students, its alumni, 
the academy, the Commonwealth of Virginia, the nation, and the world.

NOTES:
1. This transfer guide represents an Articulation (partnership) Agreement between
   Lansing Community College (LCC) and Norfolk State University (NSU).  This 
   agreement facilitates the transfer of eligible LCC credits into a NSU 
   baccalaureate degree program for qualified LCC students. Students planning to 
   enroll in a program that will transfer to Norfolk State University are asked 
   to contact Tonajala Eaton, Academic Advisor, at (517) 483-1053 or by email at
   eatont2@lcc.edu. This articulated agreement does not have a specified 
   expiration date. 
2. The declaration of intent to enroll at NSU should be made after the student 
   has completed at least 15 credit hours at LCC and before the student completes
   the transfer-oriented degree or the occupational/technical degree.  It is also 
   required that the student informs NSU upon any decision to discontinue parti-
   cipation under this agreement.
3. To be eligible for participation in this articulation agreement, students 
   must:
   a. Graduate with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher from a transfer-oriented 
      associate degree program or an occupational/technical degree program 
      (including the general education requirements listed above),
   b. Declare an intent to transfer to NSU, and 
   c. Enroll at NSU within one year of completing their associate degree.  
4. The NSU admissions application fee is waived through this agreement.  
5. LCC students are eligible to apply for in-state tuition and fees and scholar-
   ships that NSU will provide annually for LCC students after matriculation as 
   a full-time, degree-seeking students at NSU as long as the agreement remains
   in effect. 
6. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
   requirements.  See the LCC catalog online at http://www.lcc.edu/catalog for 
   details.
7. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and 
   writing.  To determine accurate course placement, students should take the 
   Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
