NOTES:
1. This transfer guide represents an Articulation (partnership) Agreement between
Lansing Community College (LCC) and Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC)
which facilitates the transfer of 29 credits from LCC. The courses listed
above fulfill part of the Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program
requirements at GRCC. This articulated agreement expires December 2014.
2. In order to take OTA classes at GRCC the student must be admitted to the
college and formal acceptance into the program. The student should follow
admissions procedure identified in the GRCC college catalog.
3. OTA courses are offered on the Grand Rapids Community College campus. All
applicants will be asked to take English and math placement tests. Students
are admitted to the program once a year, in the Fall semester.
4. GRCC Occupational Therapy Assistant Program has been helping to meet the
health care needs of West Michigan for over 30 years. Occupational Therapy
is part of the health care and rehabilitation profession. Occupational Therapy
Assistants work under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.
They work with people of all ages who, because of physical, developmental,
social or emotional deficits need specialized assistance to lead independent,
productive and satisfying lives.
5. The OTA program is accredited by the American Council of Occupational Therapy
Education of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
6. In order to be eligible for admissions into the OTA program, students must:
a. Be a high school graduate or have passes the high school equivalency GED
Test.
b. Have a high school GPA of at least 2.5.
c. Score at least 40 on the algebra or 76 on the arithmetic portion of the
health math test.
d. Score at 74 on the health reading test.
e. Have completed a one-semester course of high school computers, focusing on
computer literacy, internet skills, retrieval and management of information
with a grade of at least a "C" (2.0).
f. Submit and release findings of fingerprinting and criminal background check
at GRCC.
g. Successful complete of BIOL 121 and 122 with a 2.0 or better.
7. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation

8. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
