NOTES:
1. This transfer guide represents an Articulation (partnership) Agreement
between Lansing Community College (LCC) and Morgan State University (MSU.
This agreement is designed for graduates of the LCC Liberal Arts, Associate
in Arts degree, transferring to the Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of
Science (BS) in Journalism with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism at
MSU. Students planning to transfer to Morgan State University are asked to
contact Tonajala Eaton, Academic Advisor, at (517) 483-1053 or by email at
eatont2@lcc.edu. This agreement is in effect until April 2014.
2. Morgan State University admissions process:
a. The student must request entry into Morgan State University's Student
Transfer Admissions Program (STAP) no later than the first semester of
course work at LCC and provide a signed letter of intent to transfer. This
form is available in the Morgan State University Articulation Agreement.
b. Students must transfer to MSU within three years of joining the STAP. IF
an extended period is anticipated, the student should contact the LCC and
academic advisor.
c. Students must maintain a minimum of a 2.0 cumulative grade point average.
d. Freshman Orientation (1 credit course) is not required for transfer
students transferring with a minimum of twenty-four (24) credits from LCC.
e. Morgan State University does not guarantee the transferability of courses
taken outside the guidelines within this agreement.
f. In order to be eligible for admission, students must comply with all MSU
admissions requirements, including posted deadlines and submission of
appropriate documentation.
g. Students who have satisfied the requirements of this agreement will be
given every consideration for financial assistance and will be eligible
to complete for academic scholarships at MSU.
h. Applications for admission can be obtained by contacting the Office of
Admissions and Recruitment at (443) 885-3000 or online. All required
application materials must be supplied by the deadline.
i. Students will automatically be nominated for scholarships for which they
are eligible. For priority scholarship consideration, students must
complete their admission application by November 15th for fall admission.
j. Students shall contact the department head for their major for an advising
appointment once they have been admitted to MSU.
3. Application Deadlines:
Fall Semester: November 15 priority/February 15 regular
Spring Semester: January 15th
Application fee: $35 online/$45 paper
4. The maximum number of credits accepted in transfer by MSU toward degree
requirements is ninety (90) credits.
5. See the MACRAO Transfer Agreement for course selection of four (4) additional
social science credits.
6. Select eight (8) credits from CHIN/FREN/GRMN/JAPN/SPAN 121 & 122 -OR-
FREN/GRMN/JAPN/SPAN 201 & 202.
7. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements. See the LCC catalog online at www.lcc.edu/catalog for details.
8. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
