Chances are you've always been good at repairing cars and trucks. You
know you have what it takes to become a great technician. Maybe now it's
time to put what you know to the test and get the credentials you need to
become a professional automotive service technician.
From automotive service technician to service manager to maybe owning your
own repair shop one day, it all begins with the academic and career training
available to you through the Automotive Technologies Program at Lansing
Community College.
LCC's Automotive Technologies Program is one of the most respected training
and learning experiences of its kind in the region. While most of our
graduates seek employment in the Mid-Michigan area, a good number can also
be found working in various locations coast-to-coast in the industry. The
majority of program graduates and individuals who have earned automotive
degrees and/or certificates from LCC find jobs as automotive service
technicians while taking classes or soon after they have completed their
studies. Why? Because employers know that LCC program graduates and
certificate completion students are trained professionals ready for the
demands of the real world. After successfully completing our program, you
will be ready to hit the ground running. Job satisfaction is high and the
pay scale is equally attractive. Starting pay ranges from $30,000 to nearly
$80,000 annually in some areas.
The Automotive Technologies Program offers a variety of certificate and
associate degree programs designed to provide you with the latest in
practical, hands-on coursework based on current industry standards. What you
learn in the classroom and auto labs is what you'll use in the real world.
Students in our programs work on "live" jobs--cars and trucks that need to
be repaired. Our faculty members have worked in repair shops and bring a
real-world relevance to your learning experience.
Courses are offered throughout the year. To accommodate your schedule,
courses are offered days, evenings and weekends. Spring semester begins in
January, summer semester begins in June and fall courses begin in August.
