FAQs - Miscellaneous

If I overwrite or delete a web file by mistake, can I have it restored?

Yes, but you will need to contact the LCC Help Desk and submit a Service Request. Files that have been deleted or overwritten can be restored for up to 60 days. However, they must have been published for at least 24 hours for this to occur. When you call the Help Desk, make certain that you report the URL of the file or directory that has been deleted or overwritten, as well as the date when the it last appeared correctly. If you have questions regarding how to do this, please contact Web Management.

Why isn't my web page showing up in the LCC search?

It can take up to month before a web page is indexed by the search engine. This is because LCC uses Google's site search. For a web page to be indexed with this technology, it must be "crawled", and this is completed approximately once a month. So, if your web page is not showing up, it's possible that it has not yet been indexed. Be patient and it will show up.

Why has the right navigation bar disappeared?

Check the Content area for a table, graphic or photo. Any of these may be too wide causing the template to break sending the right navigation bar to move to the bottom of the page. Resize the element to fit into the maximum width of the page.

A hyperlink path can also break the template. Rename the hyperlink to the destination and remove the path from the content area.
