Lansing Community College

The LCC Regional Fire Training Center Fire Academy prepares recruits in basic fire training and physical fitness. Graduates of the academy earn a Certificate of Completion (CC), which can apply toward either of the Fire Science Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degrees.

Successful completion of Fire Academy also certifies graduates in the Michigan Fire Fighter Training Council for Fire Fighter I and II, Hazardous Materials Operations, Vehicle Extrication, Advanced Vehicle Stabilization, NIMS 100 and 200, and Wildland Fire Fighter II through the National Wildfire Coordinating Group.

The Fire Academy admissions process is detailed below. Please note that each step has additional tasks that must be completed for both the general LCC and Fire Academy application processes. In addition, it is recommended to apply for financial aid (FAFSA), scholarships and grants to help fund your education.
