Lights, camera, action! Work individually and in groups to direct and produce video projects. Learn about television production and filmmaking; learn how to set up and run a video camera, interview, camera techniques, and how to storyboard. The film crew will work in teams to script and produce several short video projects.

Be inspired by dance! This camp includes Hip Hop Fusion, Jazz and Ballet styles of dance with an overview of dance history. Improvisation and creative movement will help the student further explore as they learn basic technique, steps and combinations. May include optional group activities. The camp will conclude with a closing ceremony. Watch your child’s confidence and appreciation for the art form grow as they discover new skills!

Filmmakers and actors needed! Get your name in the credits. Make a music video guided by an experienced filmmaker. Students will work in teams to create Music Videos scripted by the student filmmakers. The classroom will be transformed into a mini-studio and students will have access to cameras, tripods, IPads, art supplies and other technological tools to bring their ideas to life.

Using science, technology, engineering, and math skills students will build a series of sports structures such as designing a basketball hoop and catapult, launching mini arrows in an archery contest, sailing a wooden boat, building a parachute, and make a big splash in a diving contest! Students can compete against each other for top honors or just have fun building.

The “DO NOT CROSS” crime scene tape is ripped wide open for you in this true crime deep dive as you take a look at some of the behind the scene investigations and labs used by true crime detectives. You will be working hands on with microscopes, science labs, fingerprints, chromatography, DNA and even perform an autopsy on a pickle to see how real investigators solve crimes. Come lend your critical thinking and science skills required to solve true crimes.

Study with a professional photographer and learn the basics of lighting, composition, and camera settings. During this fun, hands-on class, we will explore different types of photography by studying the work of legendary photographers and exploring their techniques.  Each session will include instruction, examples, and hands-on photo assignments. Practice taking portraits, landscapes, still life, street photography, and more! Students will have time each class to work on their photo assignment and get feedback from the instructor. Student photographers will develop a photography portfolio that highlights their personal style.

iPads are provided for each student. If a student prefers to bring their own equipment, the following camera types will work for this class: Smart Phone, iPad, Point and shoot camera, DSLR camera, Mirrorless camera - ask if you have a question.

Design and build a miniature golf course this summer! The class will use math, science and engineering skills to design moving parts for our mini golf holes. Using spare parts and scrap material we will build the course and set it up in the parking lot to play on the last day!

We will scavenge the parts to build your robot from small electronics, appliances and old toys that you bring in. Each mini-robot built will be different. The more items you bring in, the bigger variety of gears, motors, wheels, pulleys and other parts you will have as your building materials.

Learn all about Michigan snakes, turtles, frogs and salamanders in this fun, hands-on class. Live animals will be brought in each day! Learn their role in the environment, adaptations that help them survive, and predator-prey relationships-all taught by a professional biologist. There will be plenty of opportunities to hold, pet and feed many of these amazing creatures that live in our state.

Filmmakers and actors needed! Get your name in the credits. Make a music video guided by an experienced filmmaker.  Students will work in teams to create Music Videos scripted by the student filmmakers. The classroom will be transformed into a mini-studio and students will have access to cameras, tripods, IPads, art supplies and other technological tools to bring their ideas to life.

Do you like a good mystery? The classroom scene is set, Mr. Bear was missing, and you get to solve a mystery! First you will become a detective as you search for clues. Next you will test fibers, powders and prints just like a real scientist. As you gather facts you will be able to solve the mystery of missing Bear. Students will develop critical thinking, science, math and reading skills in this fun hands-on class.
