LCC Hosts 2nd Annual Safety & Preparedness Fair

September 10, 2013

Lansing – Area families can become familiar with police cars, ambulances, fire trucks and other public safety vehicles on Saturday, September  28 at Lansing Community College’s (LCC) West Campus between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The Safety & Preparedness Fair, held in celebration of National Preparedness Month, will teach parents and children how to prepare for disasters and emergencies in their homes and communities. Several safety and preparedness organizations will be in attendance to offer an abundance of helpful information to educate the community.  There will also be games, activities, and free popsicles for children and their families.

The free event  is sponsored by Lansing Community College’s Emergency Management & Safety Services Department.

National Preparedness Month is sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) each September, and is celebrated at events throughout the U.S. The goal is to give everyone the chance to join together and share information to enhance our national security, resilience, and readiness.
