Community Members invited to "Blanket the Neighborhood" on November 14

Lansing Community College (LCC), the Catholic Community of St. Jude, St. Vincent Catholic Charities, and the community.


The greater Lansing Community is invited to join LCC, the Catholic Community of St. Jude, and several community groups to make fleece blankets for refugee families relocating to Lansing. Instructions on how to make the blankets, snacks, and lunch will be provided.

The blankets will be donated to St. Vincent Catholic Charities Refugee Services. In addition, a collection will be taken for household items, fleece fabric, and financial contributions.

Fleece donations and household items can be delivered to the LCC Student Life department in the Gannon Building, Room252.04 by Saturday, November 14.

  • Needed household items include: bathroom/kitchen cleansers, brooms, mops, buckets, dish soap, dust pans, laundry detergent, paper towels, sponges, trash bags, wastebaskets, pillows, and alarm clocks.
