August 16, 2016

LANSING, MICH. - Lansing Community College (LCC) will host a summer Welcome BBQ for new and returning LCC H.O.P.E. and Promise scholarship students. According to Harvard University's Summer Melt Handbook, an estimated 10-40 percent of college-intending students "melt away" each summer by failing to act on their intentions to attend college in the fall. The Coalition for Career and College Readiness, LCC's Centre for Engaged Inclusion and CapCAN joined forces to prevent summer melt by designing a suite of summer events for college intending graduates in the community.
